OnLive has announced that its cloud-based game streaming service will launch in the 48 contiguous US states on June 17, 2010. The service will initially be available to PC and Mac owners for a monthly service fee of $14.95. Each game purchase and rental will carry a charge on top of the base subscription. Okay, Mac gamers, take a deep breath. It’s been a busy day. Steam is coming to the Mac . The Left 4 Dead games will even support multiplayer across PC and Mac platforms . Capcom heralds “Kill Big” as the tagline for a new Lost Planet 2 trailer — and you can certainly see why after the break. It’s debatable whether or not the server crashing this past week was a symptom of Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s success. Earlier today, our tips inbox and the official Assassin ’s Creed 2 forum were set ablaze by incensed owners of the PC version of the aforementioned Italian revenge epic. According to numerous reports from prospective players of the game, Ubisoft’s DRM authentification servers have crashed, forcing some players to suffer lengthy login periods when booting up Assassin’s Creed 2 , and locking some folks out of the game entirely....

Over the next two days, a significant chunk of the Joystiq staff will be boarding planes, trains and dirigibles, all heading towards the sunny environs of San Francisco for GDC 2010. Of course, the folks aboard the dirigibles will probably arrive a few weeks late, because airships outside of the Final Fantasy canon are awfully slow. Except, of course, for the one Balloon Boy almost made his maiden voyage in. Then again, we suppose its top speed...

We know that some of you are less than excited about the return of vehicular gameplay to the Mass Effect franchise — we still have vivid nightmares about our time behind the wheel of the Mako from the original game.
